The greatest resource of any organization is the men and women who dedicate their professional careers to its function. Working for the Henderson County Sheriff Department is more than just a job, it is a commitment to doing "whatever it takes" to protect and serve the citizens of Henderson County. are to perform our mission to the "Henderson County residents" to the fullest.
Public trust can only exist when we, as the Sheriff Department in Henderson County,
perform our duties with fairness, equity, professionalism, and vigor. Fundamental to this is the
process by which we hire our officers. While the ability to perform job tasks
is of substantial importance, we are also intent on recruiting candidates

Haynes releases;On 03/14/2013 at 9:56PM, Henderson County Sheriff and Deputies responded to a farm in the Township of Carman to investigate a Criminal Trespass to Property Complaint. Henderson County Deputies arrested Jamie L. Stevenson of Burlington, IA, age: 21 for Theft Under $500.00, Criminal Trespass to Property and Driving While License Suspended and Daytona R.R. Fenton of Burlington, IA, age: 18 Theft Under $500.00 and Criminal Trespass to Property. Both Stevenson and Fenton were transported to the Henderson County Jail where they were processed and then posted bond. Stevenson and Fenton’s court date, 04/12/2013 at 10:00AM-Must Appear. Assisting agency was the Stronghurst Police Department.
Henderson County Sheriff Steven P. Haynes releases;On 11/22/2012 On November 19th, 2012, Henderson County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Justin R. Davis of Davenport, IA, age: 24 on a Henderson County Warrant for three counts of Home Invasion, Armed Violence and Residential Burglary at the Buchanan County IA. Jail in Independence, IA. Davis was transported to the Henderson County Jail, where he was processed and placed in jail. The bond of the Henderson County warrant was set at $500,000.00. 10% to apply. This arrest stems from a home invasion which occurred in the early hours of December 5th, 2011 in the Bald Bluff Township.
Henderson County Sheriff Steven P. Haynes releases;On 10/03/2012 at 7:58AM, Henderson County Investigator responded to Co. Rd. 575N, west of Co. Rd. 700E in the Township of Lomax to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle parked along the roadway abandoned. After an investigation, Henderson County Deputies arrested Michael B. Diehl of Burlington, IA, age: 40 for Attempted Burglary, Criminal Trespass, and Possession of Controlled Substance and also arrested was Sheldon W. Krogmeier for Attempted Burglary, Criminal Trespass, and Possession of Controlled Substance. Diehl and Krogmeier were taken into custody and transported to the Henderson County Jail where they was processed and placed into jail. Diehl and Krogmeier are held on felony no bond charges and are waiting for an appearance in front of a Judge to set bond on Friday. Further investigation uncovered a Cannabis Salvia Plant growing operation on the Michael Wiley property in rural Lomax. Deputies pulled 49 plants from the property. Michael A. Wiley of Lomax, IL, age: 49 was arrested for Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Guns and Ammo without a F.O.I.D. card, Unauthorized Production/Possession of Cannabis Sativa Plant, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While License Revoked. Beth E. Weyrick of Lomax, age: 48 was also arrested was Possession of Cannabis, Unauthorized Production/Possession of Cannabis Sativa Plant and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Wiley and Weyrick were taken into custody and transported to the Henderson County Jail where they was processed and placed into jail. Wiley and Weyrick are held on felon no bond charges and are waiting for an appearance in front of a Judge to set bond on Friday. Assisting the Henderson County Sheriff’s Deputies was the Illinois State Police. Strange and Ware ArrestedOn September 26th, 2012 the Henderson County Sheriff's Deputy responded to the Scott's Equipment and Repair in the Village of Biggsville for a report of a theft of a Husqvarana UTV, valued at $12,600.00. The owner of the business stated no one had permission to take the UTV and then reported it stolen. Later on in the day the UTV was located on Railroad property, east of Biggsville, abandoned in the Township of Biggsville. After a subsequent investigation, two suspects were arrested by Henderson County Sheriff's Deputies. The deputies arrested Raymond Ware of Biggsville, IL, age: 24 and Justin Strange of Biggsville, age: 23 for Theft over $300.00. Both Ware and Strange were transported to the Henderson County Jail on a no bond charge. The suspects were finger printed, processed and placed into jail awaiting a court appearance.

The people involved are from the Quad Cities area. The company tells you that they will clean your carpets for free and then attempt to sell you one of their vacuums. While in your home they will attempt to gather your personal information and look for bank statements check books, or debit cards to defraud your bank accounts. Sheriff Haynes reminds everyone never to give out your personal information and if something seems suspicious to you, please report it to the Sheriff's Office. If an arrest is made based on your tip, you could be eligible for a cash reward. Timothy D. Harmon Wanted As Of: 09/21/2011Henderson County Sheriff Steve Haynes announces the 2012/2013 Scholarship winnersHenderson County Sheriff Steve Haynes takes great pleasure to announce that on behalf of the Illinois Sheriff's Association and the Associate Members of Henderson County that Ethan A. Bigger, has been selected to receive the Illinois Sheriffs' Association Scholarship for the 2012/2013 school year. Scholarships are awarded throughout the State of Illinois to students pursuing a higher education. The $500 scholarship is to be applied to tuition, books and fees only. The student must be enrolled full-time at a certified institution of higher learning within the State of Illinois. One scholarship is given for every 500 associate members in the county. Henderson County Sheriff's Office received several applications which all demonstrated outstanding scholastic, extra-curricular and character qualifications. The applicants were also to submit an essay with their application. The theme of the essay was, "How would you suggest that government, law enforcement, medical providers, school officials, etc. educate young people on the risks involved in the use of, what some believe, is a legal compound and an alternative to marijuana?" Ethan Bigger is the son of Barry and Jody Bigger, Media, IL. Ethan will be a 2012 graduate of West Central High School. Also, a first and second alternate was chosen in the case that the winner for any reason is unable to accept the scholarship. First alternate is Bailey Stokes, daughter of Greg and Lynn Stokes, Oquawka, IL; second alternate is Michael Keane, son of Tom and Sandra Keane, Stronghurst.
